Individual Primary Asana
Traditionally Yogasanas were always taught according to the needs and requirements of the individual. This was to speed up the learning process and avoid unnecessary and useless activity. Because every individual has a unique structure, constitution and mind set all will benefit more from individualised programmes rather than large group classes.
The individual programme begins with the selection of the appropriate seed asana. Then the counter activities of the asana are slowly introduced over a period of time according to the individual's abilities. Progress is made with the teacher's assistance through the manipulation of the marma system, which helps to remove existing stress and blockages. The goal is to render the posture effortless.
In 2010 the individual primary asana courses will be offered for those who completed the primary asana course in 2009 and each individual will be taken to their limit with the primary asanas. Those who come in without completing the primary asana courses will given the appropriate asana to over come their obstructions
To qualify for these courses full knowledge of one of the Shadow Yoga prelude
forms is required.

Sarvangasana Retreat
In 2010 Shadow Yoga will offer a sarvangasana retreat in Bali, Indonesia. This course is only eligible for those students who have completed the three week primary asana courses in 2009.
The study of sarvangasana (all limbs as one) is the beginning of the crowning process of hatha yoga. Without the mastery of sarvangasana, sirsasana will give no benefits whatsoever, and without the mastery of sirsasana the practice of pranayama will remain barren.
The study of sarvangasana is usually introduced when some ability is gained in the primary asanas.
Therefore only those who have achieved this will be admitted to the course.
There will be two classes a day - am with Zhander and pm with Emma.

Nata Yoga
Out of the 108 karanas only thirty-six are suitable for the yogangasadhana. These thirty-six karanas are taught for the learning of their correct sequential arrangement (angahara). This is used for the unveiling of the latent power within, that takes place from the coiling and uncoiling stress points (bindu) within each karana from where the energy is slowly driven through the rhythmic arrangements of the angahara to the point of the critical stage that is responsible for the unveiling process (kriya) of the internal energy (kundalini) with all its force (shakti). This requires a high level of skill and the presence of the unfailing awakened power of discriminative consciousness.
In 2010 the Nata Yoga form will be introduced with the traditional asanas of hatha yoga.
